'People or Playthings', a performance by Imaginary Borders Multicultural Youth Theatre
The Overlords, powerful beings from another world, toy with the lives of humans, provoking a war between two rulers, a King and a Princess. The Princess flees for her life across the sea, pursued by an evil spirit. Can she face her fears and return to bring peace to both countries?
Playthings or People? is a short play created by Imaginary Borders Youth Theatre, that uses movement, song, drumming, mask and text to tell a story of flight, courage and return.
People or Playthings is the final performance of the first semester of "Imaginary Borders", a free theatre project for young people from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds, including indigenous backgrounds, between the ages of 13 and 18. The story was devised by the actors in collaboration with Directors Robin Davidson, and Felix Machiridza.
